Music in Public Places: 27th Street Brass Quintet

The 27th Street Brass Quintet, in its 7th year, is made up of Central Oregon musicians mostly from the Central Oregon Symphony. Our members include Jeff Briggs and Ken Steiger on trumpet, David Hymans on Horn, Dan Flagg on trombone and the ever energetic Barry Crenshaw on Tuba. We will present a program of varied styles including jazz, dance, folk and classical including selections from West Side Story, Jack Gales wonderful arrangement of 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square', The 'English Folk Suite' by Ralph Vaughn-Williams, and we are particularly excited to play the challenging and extremely beautiful original composition for Brass Quintet by renowned movie composer Michael Kamen entitled simply 'Quintet'. You may just go out the door dancing after we play Sonny Kompanek's seductive 'Killer Tango'!
