Thursday, May 12, 2022 - 12:00pm

Abby Hall

The library is pleased to host enrolled Klamath Tribes member Gabriann “Abby” Hall to share her presentation on the history of Indian boarding schools. Hall’s presentation takes place on Thursday, May 12, from 12pm-1pm in the library’s Broughton Room. The event is free and open to all.

Covering over 100 years of boarding school history and experiences, this presentation combines Native history and oral storytelling. The content comes from Hall’s historical research as well as first-hand interviews of boarding school survivors. This presentation addresses both government schools as well as religious schools. Attendees will learn how these schools impacted multiple generations of Native children and forever changed Native communities.
