STATE GOVERNMENT

Oregon Legislature: Bills and Laws
The Oregon Legislature provides free online transcripts of the Oregon Revised Statutes, the Oregon Constitution, select Oregon state government publications, bills dating back to 2007, and laws dating back to 1999. The Oregon Revised Statutes are also published in an annual print edition by the Oregon Legislative Counsel.

State of Oregon
Oregon.gov is a portal site encompassing all aspects of Oregon’s state government. Services provided through Oregon.gov include fill-in-the-blank legal and tax forms, online voter registration, unemployment benefits, business registry, drivers’ information, outdoor recreation licenses, and tools for job seekers.


FEDERAL GOVERNMENT

Government Printing Office (FDSys)

The U.S. Government Printing Office provides free online access to official publications from the federal government through its FDSys (Federal Digital System) service. The scope of the collection includes all extant declassified government documents dating back to 1793. High-quality scans of historic documents are provided when available.

U.S. Government
USA.gov includes information on all branches, divisions, and levels of government in the United States. Site coverage includes federal grants and loans, immigration and citizenship, passports, health insurance and public assistance programs, and contact information for elected officials.

Congress.gov
Documents the activities of the United States Congress. Explore the Congressional Record, legislation, treaties, and other archives managed by the Library of Congress through an easy-to-use search interface.


LEGAL INFORMATION

Crook County Law Library
The Crook County Law Library serves members of the public who need to research the law. The Law Library provides print and digital legal resources, printing and photocopies, and document notarization on selected days. Materials kept at the Law Library do not circulate and may be used onsite during regular business hours free of charge. Books in the Law Library are located on the ground floor of the Crook County Courthouse building or in County Counsel offices.

Fastcase
Available to all Oregonians, the Fastcase collection includes the United States Code, United States Supreme Court and Court of Appeals Cases; and  cases, statutes, regulations, court rules, constitutions, attorney general opinions, and session laws for Oregon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Washington.

Download legal forms and read legal reference books for free, courtesy of the State of Oregon Law Library. Your username is "crook" and your password is "oregon."

NOLO
Available to all Oregonians, NOLO provides access to full-text legal reference publications written for consumers that allow individuals to learn about specific topics of law. Your username is "crook" and your password is "oregon."

Oregon Law Help
Free legal information for low-income Oregonians. This easy-to-browse website includes information on a variety of legal topics along with contact info for Legal Aid offices across Oregon.

Oregon State Bar

The Oregon State Bar provides information on a number of legal topics, including Oregon laws, low-cost legal representation, public records requests, and bankruptcy. Services provided directly by the Bar include a toll-free Lawyer Referral Service for those who are seeking legal help.


TAXES

FreeFile
FreeFile is the Internal Revenue Service's official portal for free online tax filing. FreeFile facilitates the online submission of both federal and state taxes. If you need forms but still want to submit your returns the old-fashioned way, you can also use this website to print copies of federal forms.

Printable federal tax forms and instruction booklets, tax code updates, refund information and more.

Oregon Department of Revenue
Print copies of state tax forms or check the status of your state tax return here.

Annual Credit Report
Annual Credit Report is the only official site directed by Federal law to provide online credit reports. Receive up to three reports a year with no charges or obligations and without giving away sensitive personal information.
