Get Cozy with an E-Reader
Any adult or teen can check out one of our six E-Readers. Just bring your Crook County library card, government-issued photo ID/proof of address, and a parent if you are 12-17. Each E-Reader comes pre-loaded with 200+ popular adult and YA titles representing more than twenty genres. That’s thousands of hours of cozy reading, right at your fingertips! E-Readers are for kids, too - with over 200 classic read-aloud titles to choose from, our children’s E-Readers are perfect for bedtime storytelling.
Snuggle Up to a Laptop
Laptops are available for patrons 12 and older and may be used for up to 3 hours anywhere inside the library.* Pick a spot near your favorite shelf, in the teen room, by the fireplace - wherever you feel most comfortable - and snuggle in for comfy computing. To get started, bring your Crook County library card, government-issued photo ID/proof of address, and a parent if you are 12-17.
* Does not include lobby, meeting rooms, or Chapters bookstore.
Want to print directly from your laptop or home computer to the library printer? Stop by the library to register your e-mail address with Pharos, our printing system. Once you're registered, you can log in to Pharos Remote Printing from home or your personal laptop by entering your library card number and PIN (usually the last 4 digits of your phone number). For black and white documents, you can either upload your document to the Pharos site or attach the document to an e-mail sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. Color documents can only be printed via e-mail. You have 24 hours to head down to the library and print your document from the Print Release Station. Printouts cost $0.10 per page for black and white and $0.50 for color.

Crook County Library has 4 High Desert Museum passes available for checkout! Passes are available on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be placed on hold. Each pass checks out for 7 days and provides museum admission to up to 4 people (children 4 and under are always free). To get started, bring your Crook County library card to the CCL checkout desk.
