Friends of the Library

Friends.jpgThe Friends are an informal group of library supporters. Our mission is to promote the value of a publicly supported library in our community.

The Friends are community members who believe that a good library is essential to the cultural and economic well-being of our community. We focus public attention on the library services and activities, strengthen and expand library services, sponsor Summer Reading programs for kids, and supplement county funding, allowing for special services and materials that might not otherwise be possible.

The Friends need your support. Join the Friends and help make our library the best it can be.

When you become a Friend of the Crook County Library, you will:

  • meet new people and become involved in the community
  • receive the Friends of the Crook County Library newsletter
  • be able to receive a tax deduction
  • attend special events and functions for members
  • attend the "Members Only" time at Friends' sponsored book sales
  • learn new skills by helping us raise money, publish the newsletter, put on programs, and publish a cookbook

Some of our projects include purchasing a DVD/CD cleaner for the library; raising funds to purchase a popcorn machine for movie nights and other events; selling memorial pavers for the library's front entrance; paying for public relations materials for the library; and supporting a middle school book club led by library staff and middle school teachers.
