CROOK COUNTY/BOOK COUNTY
The Art of Racing in the Rain, a novel by Garth Stein, recounts a family drama as told by their dog. Enzo sees the world with wry humor, and a sense of wonder. Readers will delight in his original voice, his aching insights into the limitations and joys of the human and canine worlds, and his infinite capacity for love.
CROOK COUNTY/BOOK COUNTY 2010 is a program designed to bring the community together through the shared reading of the same book. The hope is that this experience will lead to informal conversations among strangers as well as participation in planned events.
This is the Crook County Library's first Community Read event. It has been made possible by a grant from the Crook County Cultural Coalition, and is being supported by the Friends of the Library, Harper Collins Publishers, Terra Communications, local organizations and nonprofits, local businesses, and individual donors.
Garth Stein will be at our Library for a writing workshop at 2:00pm, and will discuss and read from "The Art of Racing in the Rain" at the Crook County High School, Southwell Auditorium at 7:00pm, a book signing to follow. Friday, October 8th.
